David Daniel Scheurer

David Daniel Scheurer, age 61, of Mankato, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at home of natural causes.

Memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior. Private family burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.

David was born August 6, 1964 in Mankato to Daniel and Sharon (McLean) Scheurer. He attended Catholic grade school in St. Peter and graduated from Mankato East High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Mankato State University. For over 20 years, he worked for his family’s construction business, CW Scheurer and Sons. Later, he worked for Mathiowitz Construction for 20 years. He was a valued employee and enjoyed his work.

He married Rachel Bennett on September 26, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. She passed away September 24, 2025.

David’s hobbies and interests included downhill skiing, model railroads, geocaching, and visiting Minnesota state parks.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Daniel Scheurer and Sylvia McCarty-Scheurer of North Mankato; siblings, Kristin (Scott) Bailey, Duane (Maggie) Scheurer, Jason (Sarah) McCarty, Jamie (Jenny Wirig) McCarty, and Erin McCarty; 9 nieces and nephews; stepsons, Anthony and Andrew Garcia; and several aunts and uncles.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Scheurer; and wife, Rachel Scheurer.
