Delbert "Del" Henze

Delbert James "Del" Henze, age 72, of Mapleton, MN passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN of agent orange.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton, MN. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the church. Interment will be at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Mt. Lake Cemetery in Mt. Lake, MN. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Del was born on November 30, 1948 at the Mt. Lake Hospital in Mt. Lake, MN. He was born to Ferdinand and Nellie (Lyons) Henze and baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Darfur, MN. Del married to Linda Stark on November 23, 1970 there also. They were blessed with 2 children, Chad and Craig.

Del graduated from Comfrey High School in 1966 and went on to Jackson Vocational School for training in Auto Mechanics.

Del was drafted into the Army on August 8, 1969 for 2 years and served in the Vietnam War in 1970. Del was a radioman for infantry, Co. c 3/506 101 Airborne Division and was wounded and sent to a hospital in Japan.

Del, along with his wife Linda, owned and operated LynDels Cafe in Mapleton for 31 years. He also was a service delivery driver, truck driver and business owner of a car wash, mini storage, and office rental.

Del enjoyed cars - driving, working, restoring, going to car shows. He also enjoyed watching westerns movies.

Del is survived by wife, Linda; son, Chad (Trudy); granddaughter, Nyla; 1 brother; 2 sisters; 4 sisters in law; and 2 brothers in law.

He was preceded in death by his son, Craig (1984); his parents, Ferd and Nellie Henze; parents in law, Bill and Emma Stark; 1 sister in law; and 2 brothers in law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mapleton Fire Department or the Mapleton Area Foundation.
