Delilah M. Burmeister, age 97, of North Mankato, died on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Ecumen Pathstone Living, Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at a later date. The service will be livestreamed and available below.
Delilah Marcelleen Tolzmann was born on February 20, 1926 in Minnesota Lake, Minnesota. She attended the local country school. On October 15, 1946, Delilah entered into matrimony with the love of her life, Warren Burmeister, held in North Mankato.
As a devoted homemaker, Delilah found immense joy and purpose in raising her six children. Her dedication and love were evident in the warmth and love she bestowed upon her family.
Delilah and Warren shared countless memories together, spending evenings watching movies and engaged in friendly competition during card games. In her leisure time, she indulged in her love for literature, often found immersed in the pages of her favorite books. Delilah also had a creative flair and enjoyed expressing herself through crocheting and embroidery.
Delilah will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unconditional love. Her presence will be greatly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Delilah is survived by her children, Janice Middlestadt (Gene Kreuser) of Buffalo, Linda Larson of Buffalo, Gary (Patty) Burmeister of Waldorf, Randy (Sandy) Burmeister of Mankato, Debra (Brian) Schultz of North Mankato, and DeAnn (Donald) Swank of Nicollet; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Shirley (Bill) Schroeder of Woodland, CA; sister in law, Hilda Burmeister of Little Fork, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Delilah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren in 2011; 2 grandsons, Douglas Kofoed and Ryon Sonnek; sons in law, Bill Middlestadt and Loren Larson; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.
