Dennis Leroy Auringer

Dennis L. Auringer, age 80, of Eagle Lake, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Oaklawn Health Care Center. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Northview.  Burial with military honors will be held in the spring at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. 

Dennis was born on March 21, 1940 in Mankato to Ernest and Lila (Blanshan) Auringer.  He grew up in the Mankato area.  Dennis and Kathy were united in marriage on September 3, 1988 in Mankato.  Dennis was a truck driver for many years for various local trucking companies.  He then owned and operated his own trucking business before retirement.  Dennis loved painting, plastic canvas art, sudoku puzzles, and fishing.  He enjoyed time outside in his yard flower gardening and socializing with neighbors.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Brad (Jean) Auringer, Tammy (Jeff) Holcomb, and Tonya Auringer; step-children, Tammy (Ross) Mehlhop and Debbie (Todd) Dickie; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; ex-wife, Leone Auringer; sisters, Ardelle Manthey, Iralee (John) Clarke, RaeAnn Kozitza, and Cora Jo (Larry) Huebsch; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Terrill; son, Brian; sister, Joyce Williamson; and brothers, Wilmar Auringer and Ernest Auringer.
