Dennis "Denny" Frank Davito

With profound sorrow, we announce that Dennis Davito went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 9, 2025.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN, where Dennis attended weekly bible studies associated with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Burial will be held in late June 2025 in Dallas, Texas.

Dennis was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating high school, Dennis pursued his passion of journalism at the University of Missouri. He began his career as the lead journalistic photographer for the South County Newspaper in St. Louis, capturing moments that shaped the local community. His talent soon led him around the globe as a freelance photographer. Throughout his travels, Dennis met and photographed many famous and influential individuals. Later, Dennis relocated to Minnesota, where he worked at In Home Health before finding his true calling as a physician recruiter with the Mankato Clinic. Over the past 28 years, Dennis became a valued and respected member of the clinic community, helping to shape the future of healthcare in the region.

In 1989, a simple trip to the grocery store changed Dennis’s life forever when he met Kim, the love of his life. Their connection was instant, and fittingly, they were married at the very place where they met. For 36 beautiful years, Dennis and Kim shared a marriagefull of love. Together, they raised four children. Dennis was a devoted and selfless father who led by example and offered boundless support and strength.

Outside of his professional and family life, Dennis was a man of many passions. He was an avid golfer, finding peace and joy on the fairways. He coached MAYBA baseball for nine years, pouring his heart into mentoring young athletes and shaping their character. Dennis was also involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He had a deep appreciation for the wonder of creation and a passion for exploring the beauty of America’s national parks, always seeking to visit and experience as many as he could.

More than anything, Dennis lived his life for Jesus. It shaped every part of his life—how he loved, how he worked, how he led his family, and how he treated others. He lived with integrity, humility, and purpose, reflecting Christ’s love in both word and action. His generous spirit, quirky humor, and unwavering love left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kim; children, Carrie (Mike) Murphy, Ashley (Ben) Kott, Maddy (fiancé, Korey) and Dawson; grandchildren, Brandon Murphy, Isabell, Brandon, and Chloe Kott; nieces, Debra (Joe) Hausler, and Elizabeth (John) Edmondson.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kay, and brother, Doug.

The family would like to thank hospice staff, caregivers, friends, and family for all of their prayers, support, and care during this time.

Dennis’s life was a gift to us all, and his presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
