Donald Dean Sprague, age 91 of Mankato, MN died at home on October 12, 2025.
The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, MN. Visitation will be at church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangement.
Donald was born to Clarence and Inza (Avery) Sprague October 17, 1933, in Farmer, South Dakota. He received his education at Farmer grade school and graduated from Farmer High School. Donald married Margaret Willett on February 4, 1952. He worked for Northwestern Public Service Company in Mitchell and Armour South Dakota. In 1971 he and his family moved to Mankato, MN. There he bought several laundromats, commercial and residential rental properties. He was in this business until he retired 1994 when he sold his business to his sons Tim and Rick.
Donald is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Dennis (Cindy) of Blacksburg, VA, Tim (Lynn) of Madison Lake, MN, Rick (Diane) Sprague of Mankato, and Mike (Michelle) of Mankato, MN; daughter, Jan (Erik) Northenscold of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico; grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Feekes of Minneapolis, MN, Dan (Jaci) Sprague of Madison Lake, MN, Emily Sprague (Victor) of Puerto Rico, Shawn Sprague of Mankato, MN, Heidi Sprague of Mankato, MN, Stacie (Jeremy) Ramshead of Farmington, MN, Ashley (Tucker) Claeys of Oak Grove, MN; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Raegan, Gordon, Hudson, Livi, Cora, Owen, and Emmy; brother, Douglas Sprague; sisters, Doris Lorenson, Judy Baumgart, and Betty Schaefers.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Stanley, Herbert, Robert, and Orville Sprague; two sisters, Dorothy Sullivan and Luella Kearney; one granddaughter, Sarah Sprague Roberts and one grandson, Colin Sprague.
