Donna Mae Frieda Borneke

Donna Mae Frieda Borneke, age 94, of Eagle Lake, died on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at home.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church, Eagle Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Eagle Lake Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donna was born on April 18, 1929 to August and Frieda (Maus) Gens in Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County. She was united in marriage to James Borneke on March 21, 1953 at Salem Lutheran Church, Eagle Lake where she was a lifelong member. Donna’s greatest joy was spending time and caring for her family – she was a fantastic mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in the yard.

She is survived by her children, Mike Borneke, Becky (Brian) Curtis, and Doug Borneke; grandchildren, Scott Borneke, Josie Borneke, Zach Borneke, Doug (Lindsey) Curtis, Dan (Laura) Curtis, and Amy (Dan) Crissman; three great grandchildren, Easton Borneke and Ruby & Anna Crissman; and siblings, Betty Wolfe and Robert Gens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim in 2003; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.
