Donna Lee Rausch, age 92, of Mankato, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous journey through illness.
She was born on September 26, 1933 in Albert Lea, MN. After marrying Billy Schue, she moved to the family farm where they raised four children together and built a life grounded in love, laughter and hard work. She especially loved playing the piano and tending to her garden-every summer her flowers and vegetables were a reflection of her gentle care and quiet joy in simple things.
After Billy’s passing, she later married Gerald Rausch, and for 35 years they shared a beautiful life together at their lake home on West Jefferson Lake and during winters in Arizona. They traveled the world, loved to dance and cherished time with friends and family. Her warm smile and kind spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Susy Bengtson (Keith), Troy Schue (Chris), Stacey Eustice (Todd), and Terry Schue (Erin); Stepchildren Randy Rausch (Connie), Rick Rausch (Terri), Dan Rausch (Tammy), Wendy Hager (Brian) and Janelle Pitts (Rick), as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember her strength, humor, and grace.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Schue, and by her parents Einar and Ann Christianson.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato at 11:00am on Tuesday November 18th with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Family and friends are invited to share memories and honor her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to St. Croix Hospice, VINE, or donor’s choice.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at Ecumen Pathstone, Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center and St. Croix Hospice for their compassion and care.
