Donna Marie Stevens, age 92 of Mapleton died Friday, May 20, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems.
Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Donna was born May 14, 1930, to John and Marie (Schorn) Ryan in Janesville. She was united in marriage to Norman Stevens on September 21, 1950, in Waseca. Donna worked 47 ½ years at the Mapleton Community Home. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, the Mapleton VFW Auxiliary, Sertoma, and a volunteer at the Mapleton Community Home. Donna enjoyed bingo, puzzles and was known as a caregiver for friends.
Donna is survived by her seven children, Catherine Nuehring of Mankato, Jeanine Shoemaker of Mankato, Eugene Stevens of Brainerd, Ed (Deb) Stevens of Eagle Lake, Michael (Gretchen) of Rogers, AR, Sharon Bleess of Mapleton, Norman (Anita) Stevens of Shakopee; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert Ryan of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Mary Ryan of Janesville.
Preceded in death by her husband, Norman, May 29, 1976; daughter, Eileen Mashek; daughter-in-law, Lynda; son-in-law, Kenneth Mashek; six brothers, Dan, Joe, Kenny, Jim, Jerome, and Patrick.
