Doris L. Seifert

Doris L. Seifert, age 85, of Mankato, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Memorial Service 12:00 p.m., (Noon), Friday, June 12, 2026, at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday.

Doris LaJune was born September 1, 1940, to Ruben J. and Elsie E. (Sell) Wendt in Faribault, MN. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1958. On November 1, 1960, she was united in marriage to Roland L. Seifert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elysian. After their marriage Doris and Roland lived in the rural Elysian area and in 1961 moved to Mankato to raise their two daughters.

Doris worked for Valley News in Mankato until retiring.

Doris loved fishing, playing cards, gambling, word search puzzles, flower gardening and bird watching.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Sue (Jim) Miller of Mankato, and Barb "Bea" Seifert (Chuck Lemert) of St. Peter; grandson, Cody Seifert of St. Peter; four siblings, Dorothy (Aaron) Roemhildt of Elysian, Melvin (Jean) Wendt of Elysian, Bonnie (Gaylen) Schoenfeld of Lester Prairie, and Kevin (Kari) Wendt of York, PA; and extended family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland on January 14, 2016; sister, Shirley (Harold) Wagner; nephew, Steve Roemhildt.
