Dorothy Berneice LeDuc, age 95 of Mankato, passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022, at the Mapleton Community Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy was born to Harvey Morehouse and Florence (Wenner) Huettl in Mankato on April 27, 1927. She attended parochial and public schools in Mankato and graduated from Good Counsel Academy. She earned her nursing degree at St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing, in Little Falls, MN, which was affiliated with St. Mary’s of Rochester, MN. Dorothy married H. Cyril “Sonny” LeDuc in 1948 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Mankato. Dorothy cared for others as a nurse at Immanuel Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital, now Mayo Clinic Health System. Most of her career was spent in leadership roles at Thro Health Care Centers, starting as a Director of Nursing, then progressing to Administrator and Executive Administrator. In retirement, Dorothy and Cyril “Sonny” traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada; and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Dorothy also enjoyed shopping for and collecting antiques.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jim Morehouse; and Cyril “Sonny”, her husband of 69 years. She is survived by her children, Mary LeDuc of Denver, CO, Brad LeDuc of Carbondale, CO, and Bill (Lynette) LeDuc of Mankato. Also survived by grandchildren, Zachary (Dessa) Thompson of Silverthorne, CO, Eric LeDuc of Carbondale, CO, Becky Gray of Bonne Terre, MO, Kyle (McCartney) LeDuc of Plymouth, MN, Alex LeDuc of Mankato, Nick LeDuc of Minneapolis, and Kaitlyn LeDuc of Mankato, and great grandchildren, Olivia and Willa Thompson of Silverthorne, CO.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Primrose Retirement Community, Mapleton Community Home and Mayo Hospice for the care given to Mom. Memorial gifts may be given to Mayo Hospice or donors choice of charitable organization.
