Douglas Charles Anderson

Douglas “Doug” Charles Anderson, 87, of Mankato, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at New Perspective Senior Living in Mankato.

Doug was born on September 9, 1938 in Willmar, Minnesota to Donald and Gernhild Anderson. He graduated from Willmar High School in 1956 and Gustavus Adolphus College in 1962. He married Margery Barr in January 1965. Doug enjoyed a long career in the hospitality industry, operating hotels in Mankato. He had many adventurous hobbies, including hunting, fishing, sailing, and flying. To say Doug was a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast would be an understatement. His love of cars, driving, and his grandchildren frequently brought him to Washington and more boating. He would humbly, yet proudly say his 45-year dedication to Alcoholics Anonymous was one of his most important life accomplishments.
