Douglas Jeffrey Lorentz

Douglas Jeffrey Lorentz, age 57, of Mankato passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2026.

Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m., on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Eagle Lake American Legion Post 617, with a service beginning at 4 p.m. Private graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Douglas was born in Mankato, on January 22, 1969, to Roman and Doris (Kalbow) Lorentz. He was the youngest of 8 and was raised on his parent’s farm where he learned the importance of maintaining farming equipment, raising livestock, and driving truck. While growing up he participated in 4H programs; learning to drive trucks for his father’s company. He furthered his trucking career, moving onto Kato Sanitation (WM), Dr. Pepper/Snapple, and W Lorentz Construction. He married Tamie (Guentzel) on February 14, 1992, (later divorced) and blessed with 3 boys. Douglas took pride in instilling values with his children, helping others, spending time with friends, while enjoying his hobbies in life such as maintaining vehicles, hunting, fishing, playing darts, bonfires and riding his motorcycle.

Douglas is survived by his children, Andrew, Adam (Faith), and Cody; grandchildren, Oliver, and Rylee; siblings, Gerard, Debbie, Nancy, Rosetta (Steve), and Rochelle (Mike), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Doris Lorentz; sisters, Jean and Rita; brothers-in-law, David and Dennis, and nieces, Sarah, and Tara.
