Duane M. Weaver

Duane Weaver, age 65, passed away on April 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Mankato, Minnesota, to Frank and Elaine Weaver, Duane remained a lifelong resident of the community he loved. On June 16, 1990, he married DeAnn Justa in Mankato, beginning a 35-year journey defined by family, love and devotion. Duane served as a production manager for Swanson & Youngdale for 24 years, retiring in 2018.

Duane had a natural gift for humor and a quick wit that could lighten any room. He was a talented storyteller who often became the center of gravity at gatherings. Always eager for the next adventure, he loved traveling with his family and attending various events and games together.

Duane found great peace in nature and was an enthusiast of the Minnesota outdoors, finding joy in exploring new sights and being amidst the wildlife he admired. He was also a dedicated fan of Minnesota Vikings football. Above all else, he cherished his role as a father and grandfather; nothing meant more to him than the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his wife, DeAnn Weaver; his sons, Tyler (Taylor) Weaver and their daughter Tatum, and Tanner (Sierra) Weaver and their daughters Ava and Aria; his brothers, Kenny Weaver and Chuck (Krysta) Roseberry; his sister, Sue (Paul) Anderson; his sisters-in-law, Becky Kunst and Deb (Jerry) Tenski; his brother-in-law, Barry Boardman; and his father-in-law, Vern Justa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elaine Weaver; his brother, Roger Kunst; his brother-in-law, Bob Justa; and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Justa.

A private family burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery Resurrection Garden in Mankato. Details regarding a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
