Edward "Ted" Grant Ward Jr.

Edward “Ted” Grant Ward Jr., age 100 passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Garden City Cemetery.

Ted lived a long and eventful life. He was born in Hanley, Saskatchewan. He served in the United States Army as a medic during WWII. Ted married Darline Cox, and together they had two children. He earned a living as a carpenter. After retiring, he took up his first love: hockey. He played until he was 82 and coached both youngsters and adults. Ted was a great fan of the Mankato Maverick Hockey Teams. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, history and sports of all kinds.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Jan; four grandchildren, Robert Edward, Liam, Freda, and Robin; four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Jerry; parents; and son-in-law, Sylvester.
