Edwin "Ed" Farris

Edwin “Ed” Farris, age 69, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Edwin was born on September 26, 1956 in Murdo, S.D. to Charles and Alma (Woodcock) Farris. He graduated from Pierre High School and attended college in Mitchell, S.D. On June 16, 1979, Ed married Shirley Schumacher in Hosmer, S.D. Ed was a baker at Hy-Vee for 40 years. He was a devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Ed loved football, baseball, and NASCAR. He enjoyed time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Eddy, Chris, and Dan (Sarah); grandchildren, Sophie, Nevaeh, Kaleb, Shyanne, Hunter, and Isaac; siblings, Kathy Hall, Pat Gordon, Fred (Robin), Rick, and Ron; brother-in-law, Keith (Marie) Schumacher; sister-in-law, Twila Thorstenson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Herbert and Alice Schumacher; and brother-in-law, Stan (Roxy) Schumacher.
