Eleanor was born on November 28, 1932, in St. James, MN to Harry and Catherine (Schmitz) Myhill. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1950. On September 10, 1955, Eleanor was united in marriage to Robert Olinger at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. They were married for 63 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children, of whom they were immensely proud.

Above all, Elly was fiercely devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and looked forward to attending their events, eagerly cheering them on from the stands.

Elly was an amazing cook and mastered hundreds of recipes. She took pride in preparing homemade meals, which she enjoyed sharing with loved ones. She was at her happiest when gathered around the dinner table with her family, reminiscing about special memories, sharing in laughter, and simply enjoying their company.

Elly was involved in several bridge clubs and enjoyed the camaraderie she shared with other members. She was an avid card player and fiercely competitive. She was also very skilled at table tennis and could take anyone to task, even in her golden years. Elly’s other hobbies included cooking, sewing, and venturing to the casino with her husband.

Elly was guided by her strong faith. She regularly attended Sunday church service and instilled a strong faith in her children. She was a loyal servant and was committed to visiting ailing family members, friends, and neighbors, offering them compassion, prayer, and support during their time of need.

Elly will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her so much.

Elly is survived by her three children: Liz (Kyle) Meyers, Barb (Scott) Lundgren, and Tom (Tania) Olinger; four grandchildren: Matthew Meyers, Megan (Jeff) Weber, Sara (Blair) Riegel and Maddie Olinger; three great-grandchildren: Otto Weber and Polly and Dottie Riegel; brother, Jay (Karen) Myhill; and sister-in-law, Nan Olinger.
