Elsie D. Davis

Elsie Delores Davis, age 88, of rural Judson, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 4, 2022.

A Celebration of Elsie’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 16, 2022, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 9 a.m., until the time of service. Family interment will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato.

Elsie was born November 5, 1933, to Fritz and Martha (Bindert) Schroeder in Lyon County near Alvord, Iowa. She attended country school there for one year and then the family moved to the Four Corners area north of Lake Crystal, Minnesota. She attended Four Corners School and then graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1951. On March 24, 1956, she was united in marriage to her husband, Lloyd R. Davis, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Judson, Minnesota. To this marriage two sons were born, David and Daryl. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling.

Elsie’s deep Christian faith guided her throughout her life, while she supported her church and cared for her family.

Elsie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lloyd; son, Daryl (Beverly) Davis; daughter-in-law, Linda Davis Cumming (Randy); four grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Herbst; Melissa (Mark) Purvis, Evan (Lauren) Davis, Bryan (fiancée, Morgan Krause) Davis; four great-grandchildren, Brody and Jadie Herbst, Mackenzie and Madison Purvis.

Elsie was preceded in death by her son, David, who passed away in 1996; her parents, Fritz and Martha; and her brother, Karl.

Elsie’s family would like to thank Mayo Hospice – West Team and the staff at The Beacon of Lake Crystal for their care of Elsie.
