Erma J. Wick, age 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Mankato Lodge Senior Living.
Erma was born on June 13, 1926 to Dick and Tena (Kruse) Bruns at their home in Rushmore. She was the second youngest of ten children. Erma grew up and attended school up until the 8th grade in the Rushmore area. She was united in marriage to Eugene Wick on August 13, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. Together, they farmed in rural Rushmore and raised five children.
Erma moved to Worthington in1983 and worked a couple of jobs after Eugene passed away including, Adrian Bakery, Langs Bakery in Worthington, and Brown Shoe Fit in Worthington. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Erma enjoyed quilting, dancing, embroidery, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Erma is survived by her children, Michael “Mike” (Sandra) Wick of Stillwater, Monte (Lynnette) Wick of West Salem, WI, Audrey Wick Schlong of Mankato, Sharon (Jon) Yorde of Plymouth, and Rhonda Wick of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Tony, Aiden, Aaron, Meg, Jared, Emily, Kristine, and Scott; great grandchildren, Spencer, Kaylee, Easton, Kaci, Talia, Raya, Maya, and one on the way; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; nine siblings; seven sisters in law; six brothers in law; one grandson in law; and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in the Grace Point Chapel in Mankato. Pastor Darrin Scruggs will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Croix Hospice and The Parkinson’s Foundation.
