Frances F. Thompson

Frances Faye Thompson, age 92, of Mankato, died December 7, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato, with her granddaughters by her side.

Funeral Service 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Grace Baptist Church, Mankato.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, MN.  Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Frances was born June 16, 1929, to Fred H. C. and Bertha E. (Arndt) Cook in Burt, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Elroy A. Thompson on September 23, 1947, in Elmore, MN.  Fran was employed for over 31 years with the Thro Corporation and the Mankato Lutheran Home in Health Care.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.   She enjoyed working at the Neighborhood Thrift Store, Gus Johnson Coffee Shop, and getting together with her nursing friends. She loved her family, especially spending time with her great-grandchildren.  Fran had a huge heart and loved sharing God’s love with others.

Fran is survived by her three children, Robert Thompson of Winnebago, Rory Thompson and special friend, Bonnie Irons of Blue Earth, Kelli Thompson of Mankato; grandchildren, Angel (Andy) Coopman of Mankato and Nikki Smith of North Mankato; great-grandchildren, Taylor Savoy of New Ulm, Cheyenne Coopman and special friend, Brandon Jordan of Pemberton, Nevaeh Coopman of Mankato; extended family.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elroy on December 16, 1998; eight siblings, Harry Arndt, Donald Cook, John Cook, Elsie Wood, Hazel Guckeen, Jean Stefanski, her twin, Fern Adams, and George Cook.
