Gerald ‘Gerry’ Clayton Cain, age 86, passed away in Mankato, MN on August 4th 2026 from natural causes at the Pillars of Mankato.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist in Mankato, Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00am with visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato immediately following the Mass.

Gerry was born on August 15, 1939 in Mankato, MN to the late Raymond J. and Ida C. (Rose) Cain. He was a proud US Air Force veteran and a retired US Postal Service clerk. He enjoyed classic country music, summers at his lake home in Sandy Pond, NY and keeping up with the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Gerry is survived by his brother, David A. (Diane) Cain; ten nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Sue; and stepdaughter, Angie Kelly, who loved and cared for him in his later years.

Gerry was preceded in death by his brother, Richard ‘Dick’ L. Cain; sister, Kathleen ‘Kathy’ R. Cain; twin brother, James ‘Jim’ E. Cain; and sister-in-law, Susan.
