Harland was born August 17, 1940, to Harland Leroy and Lucille Catherine (Straub) Drumm in Edgar, WI. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1958. "Hardy" was a man of great charisma, boundless energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to create and succeed at numerous unique business ventures during his lifetime.
For Harland, work was his main hobby in life, he loved the thrill of the chase and adventure. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and traveling across the country, most often making the family stop at every historical marker along the way which at the time seemed "boring" to his children but now survive as treasured memories. Known for his signature cowboy hat, boots and unmistakable style, Hardy could light up any room and was instantly recognized and admired for his ability to strike up a conversation with any stranger that was willing to listen to his storytelling. He will be remembered for his innovative business ideas, sense of humor and always cherishing and bringing together his large and loving family.
Harland is survived by his six children, Kimberly (Richard) Nelson of Prairie Farm, WI, Todd (Valerie) Drumm of Mankato, Dawn Gable of Fallbrook, CA, Eric (Tiffany) Drumm of Prior Lake, April (Jason) Femrite of Madison Lake, and Jennifer Drumm of Prior Lake; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two step-children, Jack "Bob" (Naomi) Copeland and Adam Copeland, two siblings, Diane Wizcek and Debra (Terry) Drumm Ford; sister-in-law, Dianne Drumm; former wives, Joyce Prom and Deborah Daniels; and extended family.
Harland was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 19 years, Jean; grandchild, Kelly; and three brothers, Dennis, Darrell, and Don.
