Harold “Harry” John Drummer Sr., age 90, of Mankato passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato, with visitation one hour prior. Live streaming will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
Harry was born on July 21, 1933, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mankato, MN to parents, Joseph and Mary (Tacheny) Drummer, the 8th of 10 children (2 brothers and 7 sisters). In September of 1956, Harry met Luanne (Glynn) at the BlueInn Drive-In where Harry’s cousins, Joan Tacheny set them up on a blind date. They then went dancing at Harderger Ballroom, and soon after became engaged in January of 1957. They were married on May 18, 1957, at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Together they were blessed with 10 children (7 boys and 3 girls), 34 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Harry farmed all his life until retiring in 2007, achieving the Premier Dairyman Award in 1968, 1969, and 1970, highest Milk production average in 1970, and in 1996 the farm became a Century Farm in Blue Earth County. Harry loved dancing and attending Polka Fest for over 30 years with best friends, Chuck and Jeannette Kruse. He also loved playing Pheffer and 66 with family and friends. Harry had a big heart with a heavy hand. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, especially grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy will continue to grow for generations to come.
Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Luanne; son, Timothy (Allison), and their children, Joseph (Andrea), William (Carissa), Adam, Jessica (Mat), Rebecca (fiancé, Jordan), their grandchildren, Nora, Lydia, Weston, Aurora, Lyra, Allise, Martin, and McKenna; son, Harold Jr. (Mary), and their children, Arielle (Adam), Grace (Ben), Abagail (Sam), Harold III, Olivia, Conrad, their grandchildren, Theodore, Les, Cierra, Reese, Calista, Naivy; son, Michael (Julie), and their children, Jacob, and Noah; daughter, Katherine (Randy) Findley, and their children, Ben, Katie Jo, William (special friend, Kaitlyn), and Nicholas; son, David (Sherry), and his children, Samuel (Emerald), Michelle, and Luke and their mother Nancy Rossbach; son, Patrick (Deborah), and their children, Dylan, and Dion; son, Kevin (Chantell), and their children, Kyler, Kenzie, and Kaden; daughter, Karolyn (fiancé, Ron) Drummer, and her children, Kaitlyn, Megan, and Paige; daughter, Mary (Todd) Enz, and their children, Dawnson, and Dylan; son, James (Kristine), and their children, Aaron (fiancé, Abby), and Emily; siblings, Delores Rykhus, Geraldine Becker, Elizabeth (Robert) Quinn; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Drummer, Maribeth Feeney, and Marilyn Glynn.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; granddaughters, Cierra, and Crystal; siblings, Hildegard (Bertrum) Denn, Raymond (LaVonne) Drummer, Marion (Stanley) Johnson, Sally (Harold) Hawker, Olivia (Lawrence) Heminover, and Cyril Drummer; brothers-in-law, John Barker, Jim Feeney, Richard (Doris) Glynn, and Mark Glynn.
