Helen E. Dehen, 82, died Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Helen was born in Minneapolis, MN to Wesley and Monica (Haley) Kvasnicka, the third child and only daughter. Helen graduated from St. Anne’s High School in 1959.
Helen Kvasnicka married David Dehen on April 23, 1960. They moved to Mankato in 1965 where David began practicing as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Helen was a gracious, modest woman who deeply loved her family. She served her faith community at Holy Rosary Parish for 48 years as school secretary and parish administrator. She also volunteered with the Council of Catholic Women and Options for Women, Simon Ministries and Mankato Does.
Helen enjoyed reading, travel, attending plays and spending time with her family playing cards and games. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s various sporting activities and life events.
Helen is survived by her son, Mark and daughter- in- law, Kim; her daughter, Laura; grandchildren, Jackson and Grace, Tashe and Chauntasia; and great-grandson, Donald; brother, Robert (Mary) and sister-in-law, Pam; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; father and mother; brothers, Richard and Gary; sister-in-law, Eva; and son-in-law, Dan Stefacek.
