Ivy Sellers

Ivaline Marie Sellers, 87, of rural Mapleton, died December 13, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Beauford United Methodist Church in Beauford with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date . Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family.

Ivy was born December 7, 1934 to Faye and Grace (Schacht) Harris in Fairmont, Minnesota. She graduated from Sherburn High School in 1952. On January 31, 1953, she married Garry Sellers. Together, they raised three children, Ann, Paul, and Bruce.

Ivy worked as a beautician for over 30 years. She also enjoyed babysitting for families in the area for many years. She was a co-founder for Celebrate Me Week and a secretary for Oak Hill Cemetery in Beauford. Ivy was a faithful member of Beauford United Methodist Church helping and serving on the Ladies Aid group. She will be especially remembered as a kind and caring person to all and a teacher of unconditional love.

Ivy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gary; children, Ann (George) Sellers of Eagan, Minnesota, Paul (Kristine) Sellers of Mapleton, and Bruce (Rebecca) Sellers of Mapleton; grandchildren, Samuel (Sophie), Maxwill, Morgan, Jackson, Will, and Olivia; and siblings, Boyd (Genevie) Harris, Ramona Dietz, Bonnie (John) Ask, Dennis (Linda) Harris, and Larry (Carol Susie) Harris.

Ivy was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter; brother in childhood, Edson; and brother-in-law, Walter “Bud” Dietz.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mapleton Community Home for their loving care of Ivy.
