James Andrew Harris of Amboy, Minnesota was born on September 3rd, 1998 in Morris, Minnesota and grew up in Blue Earth, Minnesota. James was known for his willingness to help anyone in need and a strong work ethic, working for many years in agriculture and most recently at Timpte of Mankato as a service technician. He treasured spending time with family & friends and was always down for a camping or kayaking trip where many treasured memories were made.
James loved all things related to motorsports and could never turn down a “shitbox” vehicle no matter how little potential it had, spending hours personalizing them and keeping them running.
James always wanted to be a dad. Even when he was still a child himself, he told family of his desires to someday have children. That wish was fulfilled in 2021 when he became father to his son Axell and the blessing doubled in 2023 when his daughter Avery was born. He loved his children deeply and was unbelievably proud of them. His memory lives on in them and those whose lives he touched.
James loved his girlfriend Brit and cherished her 3 daughters who he doted on, welcoming them into his life wholeheartedly. James also shared his loved with all of his family and many friends who became his brothers. He rarely left a gathering or ended a phone call without saying “I love you.”
James died 10/12/26 at the scene of a tragic car accident, far too young with so much left to experience and also so many I love you’s left to give.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, three great-uncles, uncle Robby Kinney, and several close friends.
He is survived by his son Axell Harris, daughter Avery Harris, girlfriend Brit Wiederhoeft and her girls Brylee, Aria & Claire Jurgens, mother Alaina (Jason) Young, father Jason (Ashley) Harris, mother of his children Sky Linton, brother Colton Harris, grandmother Kathy Kinney, grandfather James Reinke, grandparents John and Julie Harris, honorary grandparents Mark and Ruth Green, aunt Betty (David) Krogh, uncle Jason (Bridget) Reinke, aunt Shannon (Tony) Bohl, uncle Jeremy (Sarah) Kinney, aunt Megan Mary, uncle Matt (Mackayla) Kinney, aunt Jess Harris, great aunts & uncles, and many cousins and friends.
James’s family would like to thank all who have reached out with prayers, comfort, support, memories, pictures, and stories of how James touched their lives. We hope that his memory inspires all to share “I love you” as often and as freely as he did.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date so that all who loved him can attend.
