James A. Kietzer, age 73, of Mankato, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 11, 2025 at home.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30-11:00 at church. Private family burial will be in Tivoli Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jim was born on March 11, 1952 in Mankato to Eugene and Adair (Madsen) Kietzer. Jim was united in marriage to Jodie Oachs on October 5, 1985 in Mankato. They had two daughters, Jackie and Josie.
Jim was a car enthusiast, he loved working on cars. He went to many car shows over the years. Loved taking car rides with his wife and looking at cars. He enjoyed a trip to the junk yard, especially Brads Junk Yard back in the day and D & K. He liked having family over and riding ATVs with the grandkids. Jim was a part-time police officer in the late 80’s and early 90’s in the Vernon Center/Amboy area. Jim worked for Mico and then retired from Poet.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jodie; daughters, Jackie (Robert) Burns and Josie (Mike) Hanson; special son, Brent Oachs; grandchildren, Audrey, Paige, Grayson, and Asher; brother, Howard Kietzer; brother-in-law, Steve Weingartz; and other extended family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dianne Weingartz.
