James Douglas Rambo

James Rambo, age 69, of Vernon Center, died on December 18, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. 

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at church.  Burial will be in the Vernon Center Cemetery.  Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangement.  Livestream will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com.

James was born on January 3, 1954 in Mankato to Ronald and Nancy (McGee) Rambo.  He graduated from Wellcome Memorial High School in 1972.  Jim married Marie Kortuem on April 1, 1978 and they later divorced.  He then married Sharry Miller on October 2, 2004.  Jim was the owner of the Vernon Center Feed Company for many years.  He retired and then worked for Border States Electric.  Jim loved sports and played football, basketball, and baseball in high school.  He then played fast pitch softball and enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball.  Jim was a big Minnesota Gophers fan.  He loved mowing his lawn, loved puppies, but most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

Jim is survived by his daughters, Rita (Derrick) Stobie, Debbie (Cris) Bennett, and Stephanie Rambo (Will Berglund); grandchildren, Brielle, Justin, Jackson, Norah, and Maddox; siblings, Mike (Pat) Rambo, Dennis (Cheryl) Rambo, Linda Parsons, Linette (Brian) Irvine, and Vonnie (Terry) Henry; many nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Doug Schutt.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharry; and brother, Steve.
