Jan Johnson

Janet L. Johnson, age 85, of North Mankato, died on Sunday, August 14 at The Pillars of Mankato. 

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at River Ridge Evangelical Free Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato.  Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials are preferred to Joni and Friends MN Family Retreat.

Jan was born on February 27, 1937 in Minneapolis to Walter and Verna (Webb) Larson.  Jan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University.  She continued her studies for her LPN and received her Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary.  On May 18, 1957, Jan was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Johnson in Minneapolis.  Jan loved traveling and spending time with family and friends.  She was very involved with her church, with Senior Ministries and Bible studies. 

Jan is survived by her children, Alice Johnson of New Brighton, Joyce (Scott) Wold of Andover, and Paul (Janice) Johnson of North Mankato; grandchildren, Brandon (Morgan) Wold, Cameron Wold, Allison Wold, Weston Wold, Kristianna Johnson, Makenna Johnson, Kjersten Johnson, Carter Selander, and Connor Selander; great-granddaughter, Flora Wold; two sisters, Jane (Bruno) Colapietro and Joyce (Jerry) Larson; son-in-law, Dan (Trista and Soren) Selander; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Polly Selander; and sister, Joanne Larson.
