Janice Lee (Hance) Christianson, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026.
Janice was born on February 28, 1933, to Robert and Irene (Krueger) Hance in Red Lake County, Minnesota. She was raised in Red Lake County and graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls. Following graduation, Janice moved to Minneapolis, where she worked for IDS.
Janice married the love of her life, Calvin Christianson. Together, they created a loving home where family was always at the center of everything they did. In 1965, they moved to North Mankato, where they owned and operated Key City Hearing Aid Service for many years.
Janice found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking for family and friends. Some of her happiest memories were made at Diamond Lake, where she spent countless hours with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Whether gathered around a meal, enjoying a day at the lake, or celebrating family milestones, Janice's greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Karla Buryska (Christianson); grandchildren Sarah Buryska, Nick Buryska and longtime partner Shelby Lund, Calvin (Alexis) Christianson, Mitchell Christianson, and Paige Christianson; great-grandson Roy Christianson; daughter-in-law Kristy Christianson; sister-in-law Sharon Hance; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Irene Hance; her husband, Calvin Christianson; her son, Alan Christianson; her grandsons, Bradley Buryska and Matthew Buryska; her sister, JoAnn Thibert; and her brother, Robert Hance.
