Jerald was born on January 3, 1937, to John and Jenny (Reinoehl) Sperle in Faith, SD and enjoyed his years growing up on the ranch and returned to the Black Hills and the ranching country he loved as often as it was possible for him.  He joined the US Army and while stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado he met and married Geraldine (Gerry) Sughroue on Dec. 8, 1956.  They had 6 children; each being born in a different town as he moved through many careers until he was able to pursue his dream of flying.  He was the corporate pilot for Hubbard Milling from 1968-1983. His wife, Gerry, passed away in 1981 and in 1982 he married Grace (LeGrand) Wilson on Oct. 16, 1982.  They had a wonderful life together.  In 1983 they moved to Valley City, ND and purchased an auto parts store.  He later returned to flying and flew for Haight Construction, Sioux Falls, SD.  After retiring they moved back to North Mankato to be closer to family. Spending time with family was very important to him.

Jerald is survived by his wife, Grace Sperle; children, Janet (Carl) Larson, Mark Sperle, Debora Boehme, Cindy (Steve) Young, Elaine Ashpole, and Jeannie Schoneman (Darrell Oscarson); 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; stepchildren Julie (Allan) Watts, Sandee (Jim) Wenzel and Georgia (John) Goffe, 9 step-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Donner; Sister-in Laws, Dolores Sperle, Betty Sperle and Irene Sperle; brother-in-law, Allan Moeller and many nieces and nephews.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lavern, Norman, Raymond, and Orval; sisters, Delores Sperle (infant sister), Laura Reardon, Karen Peterson, and Sandra Moeller; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Ashpole.

We would like to thank Oak Terrace Autumn Lane and Mayo Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
