Joan Eldora Vaske

Joan Eldora Vaske, age 80, of North Mankato, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Please share a memory of Joan with her family online at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Joan was born January 23, 1942 in Granite Falls, MN to John and Doris (Tesch) Cole. After graduating from Granite Falls High School, she furthered her education at Mankato State. On June 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to Leo Vaske, and they were blessed with three sons. As a devoted mother, Joan enjoyed watching and supporting her children’s activities. She treasured spending time with family. Hosting Thanksgiving became a tradition, and everyone was always welcomed. Joan was also a voracious reader and was involved with several book clubs.

Joan is survived by her husband, Leo Vaske, of North Mankato; sons, Michael (Beth) Vaske of St. Bonifacius; Scott Vaske of Blue Earth, and Todd (Jen) Vaske of Maple Grove; grandsons, Ben, Zachary, Nathan, Jacob, and Michael; sister-in-law, Florence (Stanley) Probst; and brother-in-law, Joe Vaske.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Alan (Marilyn) Cole.
