John Lyle Gleason

John Lyle Gleason, age 67, of Nicollet, passed away in his home with his wife Linda (Eckstein) on October 18th, 2023.  There will be a Celebration of his Life at the American Legion Post #510, 715 3rd St., Nicollet, MN on Sunday, November 5th from 2-7pm.

John, son of Lyle and Rosalie (Johnson) Gleason, was born on December 22nd, 1955 in Mankato.  He graduated from Nicollet High School and worked as a mechanic at John Deere Implement in Nicollet for several years before working at Hewitt Machine & Manufacturing.  He had 2 lovely daughters with his first wife, and later married Linda.  They enjoyed many years of camping, threshing shows, bluegrass festivals, and spending time with their friends and families.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother William Gleason; sister-in-law Julie (Brad) Gleason;  and many of his aunts and uncles.  He is survived by his wife Linda; two daughters, Jennifer Gleason and Maria (Brad) Essman; stepson Mike (Heather) Ellanson; stepdaughters Deanna and Tammy Ellanson; grandchildren Emily “Fern” and Olivia Essman; step-grandchildren Levi and Janessa Ellanson, Danielle Dallmann (Willy), Gauge and baby White, and Katelyn Beach; step-great grandchildren Audrianna and Teagan Dallmann; brothers Mark (Cindy), Brad, and Robert; sisters Joan (Steve) Michel, and Melody (Karl) Weber; and many nieces and nephews.

John requested a potluck celebration, with hotdishes in particular, so please bring a dish to pass and stories to share, sandwiches will be provided.

We will be having a private burial Monday, November 6th at Hebron Cemetery.
