John "Jack" S. Ward

John “Jack” Stuart Ward, 95, of rural Medo Township, died September 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Medo McPherson Cemetery. Livestreaming will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Jack was born January 5, 1926 in Medo Township, Blue Earth County to Charles and Millie (Brazier) Ward. He attended Belleview Country School until the 8th grade and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1944. Following high school, Jack farmed at home for a few years and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Japan and was discharged in 1952. On August 18, 1965, Jack married Nedra Jones at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Together, they raised 4 children. Jack left his home on the farm on September 10, 2021 to be with his Savior for eternity. 

Jack farmed his entire life. He lived for farming and everything about it. Upon retirement, he continued to enjoy tinkering in his shop, picking up parts when needed, and looking at cars and tractors. Jack loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Grace Baptist Church in Mankato.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nedra; children, Judy Nyquist, Roger (Janet) Ward, Nancy (Gordon) Kasseth, and Nathan (Lisa) Ward; grandchildren, Joshua (Emma) Nyquist, Rachel Nyquist, Matthew Nyquist, Lauren (Eric) Blizzard, Jacob Ward, Elizabeth Kasseth, Evan Kasseth, Caleb Ward, Levi Ward, and Ethan Ward; and great grandson, Simon Nyquist.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Emma Ward; son-in-law, David Nyquist; and siblings, Beth Pierce, Elwyn Ward, Helen Nicolai, Charles Ward, and Warren Ward.
