John George Lynch

November 2, 1953 — December 14, 2025

North Mankato

John George Lynch, 72, of North Mankato passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Club in Mankato on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4-7 p.m.

John was born on November 2, 1953 to Everett “John” Lynch and Audrey (Goettl) Lynch. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1972. He started his career at Kato Engineering in North Mankato in 1973. John married Yvon O’Connor in 1978 and they had three children. They later divorced. He retired from Kato Engineering in 2019 after a 46-year career.

John was an avid softball player and bowler who cherished time spent with his friends. He found peace on the open road, whether riding his motorcycle or exploring the country backroads of southern Minnesota in his truck. At home, he could often be found watching a Western, listening to classic country music, or cheering on the Vikings—usually with his beloved cat, Blue, by his side. John also enjoyed cooking and was always eager to share his latest recipe with family and friends. He especially loved his three children and grandchildren

John is survived by his three children: Jerimiah (Sara) Lynch of Lake Crystal, Heather (Torrey) Walrath of North Mankato, and Jasen (Fadney) Lynch of Florida; and his seven beloved grandchildren: Aubrie, Jackson, Kate, Savanna, Brooklyn, Eli, and Maya. He is also survived by his siblings, MaryLou Kalbow, Tina (Mike) Dooley, Pat (Jude) Lynch, and Laurie Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Audrey Lynch, and his uncles, Tom and Tim Goettl.
