Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Maday

Mankato

Kathleen "Kathy" Marie (Rowan) Maday, age 77 of Mankato, passed away Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4-7PM at Northview- North Mankato Mortuary. Interment will be held at a later date.

Kathleen was born April 26th, 1946, to John and Rose (Rezac) Rowan in Northfield, MN. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Robert Maday, Sr. on November 4, 1967, in Lakeville, MN. Kathleen was employed for many years as a rental agent in Mankato and then as a cashier at Randall’s which became Cub Food West in Mankato until she retired in 2012. Her hobbies and interests ranged from playing a variety of games to watching movies, delving into Egyptian & fantasy lore and tending to her various flower gardens. Most of all she adored spending time with her loved ones any chance she got. 

Kathleen is survived by her children: Bradley (Lori) Maday of Mankato, Bridget (Al) Capps of Austin, TX, Robert Maday, Jr. (Machelle Hettinger) of Stewartville, Lynn Weir (Jon Renner) of Mankato, and Sean Maday of Mankato; grandchildren: Rebeckah and Connor Maday, Sydney (Nicholas) Sanford and Jackson Maday, Avery Maday-Larson, Raymond, Ryan, and Katie Renner; siblings: Margaret (Marvin) Jacobson of Dundas, JoAnne (Phillip) Olson of Northfield, Laura (Bryan) Haugen of Dennison, John (Linda) Rowan of Northfield, Michael (Julie) Rowan of Dennison, Tony (Shelley) Rowan of Northfield and Bernard (Melanie) Rowan of Northfield as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Maday, Sr. earlier this year; parents, John and Rose (Rezac) Rowan; her in-laws, Sylvester and Ethel Maday, brother, William (Bill) Rowan; brothers-in-law, Jack Kelly and Wally Johnson, and her sisters-in-law, Sandy Rowan and Barbara Johnson. 

Family would also like to thank the compassionate staff of MCHS Mankato, for the care she received in her final days.
