Keith "Marv" LeRoy Hanson

Keith “Marv” LeRoy Hanson, age 63, of North Mankato transitioned to his eternal home in Heaven on Friday, May 3, 2024, following a courageous surrendering to a terminal cancer diagnosis a few short months prior.

Keith’s Memorial Service begins at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior.

Keith was born November 4th, 1960, in Blue Earth, MN the youngest son of Roy and Dorothy Hanson. Keith enjoyed spending time with his older siblings, Kenneth and Lavonne, and remained incredibly close with them throughout his life. He was educated in Bricelyn where he attended school before moving to Mankato, MN to attend College. Keith graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts from Minnesota State University, Mankato. As a Sophomore in College Keith met and fell in love with his wife “Laurie”. Keith and his wife, Laurie, married in 1982 and later settled into their first home in Lower North Mankato where they raised their family.

Keith held many talents and interests; always low-key up to something. Keith enjoyed working at Lloyd Lumber in the early nineties. He was incredibly proud of his long-time career working at Menards for over 30 years, finishing his career as a Contractor Representative. He loved helping customers, with detailed step-by-step directions, in completing and finishing dream projects for their home. Keith’s smile whenever anyone’s dream came true for their home, or a new construction project finished smoothly, was infectious. He genuinely cared for and loved people. Keith cherished many long-lasting friendships with his team at Menards, as well as countless customers. Keith loved living a life of service and his heart was felt behind the desk, in the isles, and over the phone. Throughout his adult life, billiards was a great passion. Keith played pool in multiple C & N leagues throughout the years, loved competition, and was family to many in the pool community.

Keith enjoyed fishing for panfish off the dock with his oldest daughter Kelli. Keith and Laurie loved Wednesday night “Uno” games with oldest Granddaughter, Charleigh. Keith loved a good puzzle, BBQ’s, harmonica music night and breakfasts with his wife Laurie. Keith was quick to lend a hand on any building project and give advice to his two Son’s-In-Law, “Leif” and Cameron. Keith hunted treasures at local auctions and sales, and proudly presented them to his two youngest grandchildren Rona and Thor. The presents always came with a “Horse Bite” to the knee and a giant belly laugh. Keith was a devoted animal lover and adopted many permanent residents in he and Laurie’s “fur family” throughout the years. Keith shared a passion with his daughter Terri, supporting and loving the local homeless animals at Mending Spirits Animal Rescue and BENCHS. Keith and youngest daughter Terri, hold beautiful memories of caring for foster puppies and sharing stories of Pet Rescue adventures.

Keith is survived by his wife of 42 years, Laura “Laurie”; children, Kelli (Keith “Leif”) Hanson Magnuson, and Terri (Cameron) Hanson Estes; grandchildren, Charleigh Hanson, Rona Hanson Magnuson, and Thor Hanson Magnuson; brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Hanson; brother-in-law, Kim (Debbie) Anderson, as well as nieces, nephews, family, friends, and his dog Lola. Keith is imprinted in our hearts forever and is deeply missed.
