Ladella “Dodie” Joy Anderson, age 89 of Mankato, died Thursday February 3, 2022. Dodie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato for many years and has gone home to her Lord and Savior.

A private family gathering will be held at a future date.  

Ladella was born June 1, 1932, to Leon Lowe and Ruth (Jackels) Lowe on her Grandparent’s farm (Lowefamily) in rural Westbrook, MN. She attended and graduated from Windom High School, Windom,Minnesota. Ladella was the oldest of twelve children – Ladella, Dennis, Gene, Donald, Janice, Dean,Darryl, Carol, Bill, Mary Beth, Allen, and Goldie.

In 1955 Ladella married Burton L. Anderson. They were married for 66 years and had one daughter, Kim Marie Anderson, who died in June of 2021.

Ladella was a hard worker. She worked numerous jobs over the years ranging from banks to retail
including TCF Bank, JC Penny, Brett’s Department Store, Foot Locker, Athletic Attic and Contents in Mankato and St. Peter. She also very much enjoyed visiting with siblings, relatives, and friends. Ladella was an excellent card player, cook and homemaker.

Ladella is survived by siblings, Dean Janzen, Darryl Janzen, Bill Eitzen, Mary Beth Overton, & AllenEitzen. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law along with many nieces and nephews.

Ladella was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ruth (Jackels) Lowe; husband, Burton L. Anderson; and daughter, Kim Marie Anderson. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Dennis Lowe, Gene Lowe, Donald Lowe, Janice Kirby, Carol Wolk & Goldie Lowe as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Memorials can be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN.
