Larry Martin Hagge, age 82, of Lake Crystal passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, Minnesota.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. He will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lake Crystal Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Condolences may be sent to the family at: P.O. Box 647 Lake Crystal, MN 5605.
Larry was born on January 25, 1944, at his parents’ home in Elmore, Minnesota, to Lathan and Jessie (Johnson) Hagge. He attended Elmore High School before entering the United States Army in 1963. He was honorably discharged in 1966 after serving 13 months and 13 days in Vietnam.
On November 18, 1966, Larry married Sharon K. Brockman. This year would mark 60 years of marriage. Together, they raised two children, Kevin and Lori.
Larry worked for Coca-Cola Bottling in Mankato, Minnesota, for 20 years before pursuing a career as an over-the-road truck driver, a job he continued until his retirement.
Larry was a people person who loved visiting with friends and never had trouble making new ones. He could talk for hours and enjoyed sharing conversations and stories with those around him. Larry was a member of the Lake Crystal American Legion Post 294, and a lifetime member of the Mankato Morson-Ario-Strand VFW Post 950. Larry served on the Blue Earth County Fair Board for 10 years. He also enjoyed spending time at the casino. His friendly nature and ability to connect with others were a special part of who he was, and he continued making new friends right up until the end.
During his final month, Larry made many new friends and became what the staff described as a “social butterfly.” The family is deeply grateful to the staff for the kindness, care, and support they provided to Larry and his loved ones.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son, Kevin (Denise) Hagge of Lake Crystal, Minnesota; his daughter, Lori Hagge of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his two grandsons, Devan Hagge of Lake Crystal and Jacob Hagge of Janesville, Minnesota; and his great-grandson, Onyx.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; and a sister who died at birth.
