Larry Lee Rahn, age 60, of rural Good Thunder, died Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be 11:00 a.m., December 30, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., December 29, 2022, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service on Friday at the church. Private family interment will be in Barnard’s Valley View Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe given to the donor’s choice.
Larry was born October 22, 1962, to LeRoy M. and Norma A. (Lange) Rahn in Mankato. He graduated from Wellcome Memorial High School in 1981. Larry was united in marriage to Lori J. Hoeft on March 2, 1991, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mankato. Larry was a lifelong farmer in Good Thunder. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served on various church boards. He was a proud member and past assistant fire chief of the Good Thunder Fire Department for 20 years, retiring in 2022. Larry loved hunting, fishing, traveling, spontaneous new adventures, flying his power parachute, 4-wheeling in the Black Hills, spending time with his family and friends, and he was always proud to share his lake cabin with everyone.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lori; three children, Crystal (Ryan) Jordan of Lewisville, Logan (Emily) Rahn of Good Thunder, and Makayla Rahn, fiancé, Matt Volk of North Mankato; three grandchildren, Connor, Lillian, and Ryder; parents, LeRoy and Norma Rahn of Good Thunder; four siblings, Denise (Dale) Hudson, Tom (Christine) Rahn, Keven (Lora) Rahn, and Janeen (Matt) Hutchinson; mother-in-law, Orma “Jeannie” Ford of North Mankato; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry (Kenny) Fairbanks, Tom (Julie) Hoeft, Mark Hoeft, Jared Hoeft, Megan (Adam) Nelson, Melissa (Dusty) Wagner; aunts, uncles, much loved nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Tom Hoeft.
