Lavon Evelyn (Leesch) Mutch age 85 of Mankato died Friday, May 6, 2022, at New Perspective in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday May 13, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Croix Hospice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Lavon was born May 29, 1936, to August and Lillian (Gabriel) Leesch in Mankato. She graduated from Mapleton High School. Lavon was united in marriage to Leslie Mutch on April 10, 1956, at First Congregational Church in Mankato. They moved to a farm near Mapleton in 1965 where they raised their two children, Pamala and Mark. In 1998 Leslie and Lavon retired and moved to Mankato.
Lavon enjoyed playing bridge with a group of friends for many, many years. She also enjoyed potluck groups, some women’s, and mixed curling, and always enjoyed coffee with friends. Lavon and Leslie enjoyed camping, traveling, and were often known for regular walking the mall.
Lavon is survived by her son Mark; grandchildren, John (Mindy) Saxton and Laura Saxton; two great-grandchildren, Eli Saxton, Philip Saxton; three sisters, Lorraine Childs, Violet Klocek, Sonja (Ed) Disher; sister-in-law, Rosemary Leesch.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leslie; daughter, Pamela Saxton; brothers, Harland, and James (Bud).
