Lenore W. Sweers

Lenore Wanzek Sweers, age 62, of Minnetonka, formerly of North Mankato, passed away January 11, 2022. 

Born in Wells, MN on August 4, 1959, Lenore was the daughter of Norbert and Elaine (Kalis) Wanzek. She was a graduate of Wells - Easton High School in 1978 and of Mankato State University in 1983, where she received her Dental Hygiene license. On May 5, 1984, Lenore married Mark D. Sweers at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Wells.

Lenore worked for many years as a Dental Hygienist at the LorRay Drive Dental Clinic in North Mankato. While working there, she made many lifelong friends. Although Lenore lived with Multiple Sclerosis for most of her adult life, she always had a positive outlook and wonderful sense of humor. The grace, perseverance, and tenacity she displayed while dealing with her disability was truly admirable. Lenore loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time outdoors whenever possible.  

Lenore is survived by her children, Lauren (Tim) Riley of Prior Lake and Ted Sweers of Crystal; granddaughter, Elyse Riley; former husband, Mark of North Mankato; her sisters, Beth Wanzek (John Smeby) of Bloomington and Pat (Al) Hanzal of Eagan; sister-in-law, DeDe Wanzek of Redwood Falls; many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Elaine Wanzek; and brother, Fred Wanzek. 

Prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Reception to follow until 6 p.m.
