Lewis L. Sargent

Lewis L. Sargent, age 90, of Garden City, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Laurel’s Edge Assisted Living. 

A private family service will be held.  Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery.  Northview-North Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Lewis was born on May 3, 1930 in Mankato to Lloyd and Ruth (Peters) Sargent.  Lewis was a lifetime farmer in the Garden City area.  He drove bus for 40 years for the Garden City Schools. 

Lewis is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marjorie Sargent; three children, Jim (Jeanine) Sargent, Karen (Ross) Winger, and Caryl (Milt) Zernechel; grandchildren, Josh (Sheri) Sargent, Jennifer Sargent (Ben), Jaclyn (Wes) Nigon, Jason Malvin, Scott (Bridgette) Malvin, Jess (Tonya) Malvin, Amanda (Nathan) Pring, Kara Malvin, Trayl Zernechel, and Travis Zernechel; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Muriel Sargent and Kathy (Wayne) Cornish.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; 1 brother.
