Loren H. Johnson

Loren H. Johnson, age 81, of Cleveland, died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Water’s Edge in Mankato.

Funeral Service 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cleveland. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Loren was born August 25, 1940, in Mankato to Henry and Winnie (Waddell) Johnson. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1958 and attended Mankato Vocational School. Loren was proud to serve his country with the U.S. Army. Loren was united in marriage to Karen A. Baynes on August 25, 1962, St. John’s Catholic Church, Mankato and they made Cleveland their forever home. He did electronic repair for TV’s, security cameras, and VCRs for many years in Cleveland. He then taught electronics at Mankato Vo-Tech for 11 years. He was later self-employed in weather satellite technology, developing the technology until he retired. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching trains, his cats, and feeding the birds.

Loren is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Patrick (Karen) Johnson of Thornton, CO; daughter, Pamela (Jack) Bestall of Evergreen, CO; grandchildren, Aidan and Mackenzie Johnson, and Kate Bestall; step-grandchildren, John, Keith, and Kelsey Bestall; sister, Myrna Gilland of Mankato; nieces and nephews.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jerome Gilland.
