Lorraine H. Childs

Lorraine H. Childs, age 92, of Madelia, went home to the Lord on June 9, 2022. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia.  Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery.   Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lorraine was born on October 15, 1929 in Mankato to August and Lillian (Gabriel) Leesch.  She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School.  On April 4, 1948, Lorraine was united in marriage to Darrell Childs.  She worked for Tony Downs Foods for many years.  Lorraine loved playing bingo.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crossword puzzles, and playing games and cards. 

Lorraine is survived by her children, Linda (Tom) Hale of Maplewood, Geri Strong of Cottage Grove, Dennis Childs of Mankato, and Brian Childs and special friend, Joleen Blekestad of Madelia; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ted Geistfeld of St. James; sisters, Violet Klocek of Florida and Sonja (Ed) Disher of Owatonna; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Leesch of Minnesota Lake.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrell; children, Judy Geistfeld and Lori Childs; grandson, Daniel; siblings, Harlan, James, and infant brother; and sister, Lavonne Mutch.
