Lorraine Mae Olson

Lorraine Mae Olson, age 90, of Mankato, passed away on November 19, 2025. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25th , at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mankato, with visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Cemetery. 

Lorraine was born on January 9, 1935, in Comfrey, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Amelia “Molly” (Heffle) Elsing. She married Orville Olson on August 25th, 1955 and together they made their home in North Mankato beginning in 1955.

Lorraine worked as a machinist for Mankato Corporation for 27 years and she was a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed board games, playing on her iPad and visiting with her friends at Orness Plaza, especially her friend of 62 years Alice Wilaby. Her greatest joy was spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Jeff) Poole; granddaughter Ashley (Dylan) Sobota; grandson Joshua Poole; great-grandchildren Amelia, Luxe, and Roy; sister Lois (Wayne) Bloemke; and brother Glenn (Twyla) Elsing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Molly Elsing; her husband, Orville; her son, Douglas; and her siblings Ben, Arlene Leisenfeld, Arnold, Kenneth, and Jerry.
