Lowell Mark Hewitt

Lowell Mark Hewitt, a proud lifelong resident of North Mankato, passed away on March 12, 2024. Born on October 19, 1949, Lowell left a lasting impression on those he encountered throughout his journey. 

After graduating from Mankato High School, Lowell began a career with Kato Engineering, applying his skills to the field of electrical engineering. Outside of his professional life, Lowell was a man of many interests and talents.

Lowell found joy in building and piloting remote control cars, boats, and airplanes. His love for adventure extended to skiing, road biking, mountain biking. He also cherished touring motorcycle trips with adventure cycling groups, as well as fishing excursions on local lakes and trips to Northern Minnesota and Canada. 

Married in 1975 to, Margaret (Meg), Lowell was a proud father to his children, Lee and Lori, and took immense joy in watching his grandson, Avery Barbeau, grow and thrive. He was a constant presence in the lives of his loved ones, enthusiastically supporting their endeavors. 

Lowell is survived by his wife Meg; his son Lee of Dillon, Colorado; his daughter Lori and grandson Avery Barbeau of North Mankato; his sister Carol Christianson of Windom; his sister-in-law Kathy (Bob) Rossi; as well as 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Rachel and Mayo Clinic Hospice for being a source of comfort and support.

A Celebration of life will be held March 24th from 2-5 PM at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary.
