Lucille Joann Goblirsch (Lucy), age 80, of Eagle Lake, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be Monday, July 25 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on Lucille’s obituary page at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Lucy was born on August 31, 1941 in Pine City, Minnesota to Marlowe and Harriet (Annexstad) Peterson. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1960 and from Mankato Commercial College in 1962. Lucy married the love of her life, Jerome (Jerry/Jay) Goblirsch on May 18, 1968 and they built a beautiful life together. She touched many lives while working as a Media Specialist at Kennedy Elementary and Eagle Lake Elementary and also substituted at Mankato East High School. Lucy was also very active at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She never said no to an opportunity to hang out with her grandchildren; she never missed any of their events.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Jerome; children, Tammy (Mark) Kubista, Laurie Folsom, and Thomas (Amber) Goblirsch; grandchildren, Gunnar Kubista, Laynie Kubista (Brandon Moen), Kirby Folsom, Ashleigh Goblirsch, and Emily Goblirsch; siblings, Kenny (Melanee) Peterson and Christine (Bruce) Broecker; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lucy adored her dog, Abby and cat, Sadie.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wally (Kathy) Peterson; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Veronica Goblirsch.
