Madison Kay "Maddie" Johnson

Madison Kay “Maddie” Johnson, age 17, of Lake Crystal, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2022.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. The service will be livestreamed and available on Maddie’s obituary page at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Madison Kay, the daughter of Michael Johnson and Jody Williams Johnson, was born on March 2, 2005 in Mankato. She attended Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial. She was employed at The Beacon at Lake Crystal and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. Maddie enjoyed crafts, taking pictures and home decorating. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her mom, Jody Williams Johnson of Lake Crystal; dad, Michael Johnson of Lake Crystal; maternal grandpa, Donald L. Williams of Lake Crystal; maternal grandma, Nancy Sorgatz of Lake Crystal; paternal grandpa, Bradley (Norma) Johnson of Vernon Center; paternal grandma, Anita (Dave) Cooper of Texas; aunt, Jessica Johnson of Texas; special friend, Jordan Donahue of Lake Crystal; her dogs, Bella and Pedro; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandpa, Burton Sorgatz; and aunt, Jennifer Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Community Memorial Fund at the Minn Star Bank of Lake Crystal.
