Marcia Anne Pliefke

Marcia A. Pliefke, age 94, of Mankato, formerly of St. Paul, died on July 14, 2026 at Birchwood Cottages in North Mankato.

Marcia was born on November 6, 1931 in St. Paul, MN to Hermann and Myrtle (Pearson) Pliefke. She graduated from Washington High School in St. Paul. Marcia attended Miss Wood’s Training school for Teachers in Minneapolis and received her teaching degree. She then received her bachelor degree from Macalester College in St. Paul. Marcia was a kindergarten teacher in the South St. Paul school district at Lincoln School for many years. She was a very active member of North Emanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Marcia was artistic and enjoyed painting and pottery. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time at the family cabin on Lake Wapogasset in Wisconsin. Marcia was involved in the Rainbow Readers after retirement with other retired teachers.

Marcia is survived by her brother-in-law, Bruce Regan; niece, Nancy Patterson; and nephews, Scott Regan and Peter (Lillian) Regan. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Laurel Elwood and Judy Regan.
